Review: Except for Girl, Interrupted, has Angelina Jolie made any good movies? No, not really. But somehow she doesn't seem to have to. All she has to do is pose with her oversized lips and the roles keep coming. That, and being married to Brad Pitt and collecting kids from all over the world to her collection. Salt is not a good movie either. It's your typical action thriller. Typical in the sense that it's quite braindead and not the least bit exciting.

RickoLus - Grog

A short but sweet video from RickoLus album Youngster.

Soundtrack of Week 34

I haven't listened to many new albums this week, but two albums that I've been listening to are:

The Dark Knight Returns

There really is no better way to end an evening than by laying indoors, hearing the rain against the window and reading a good book. Or comic book album which is the case today.

Isha - A Place to Call Home

My friend Isha and me goes back a long time. I love him to death and I'm proud to call him my friend. And his first video from his upcoming album Call it a Lullaby makes me even more proud. I really like the song and I totally love the video that is directed by Isha himself. Can't wait for the album to hit the streets!

The Expendables (The Review)

The Expendables

Review:  This movie have actually been one of the movies I've been looking forward to the most this last year. And not because I've been thinking that it would be a great movie. No, not even a good movie. But let's face it. An action flick with the kind of cast that The Expendables have is a true must see. And how was this movie that consists of names like Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Mickey Rourke and Steve Austin? It was nothing but crappy non-stop violence and bad acting. Was I disappointed? Hell no! It was all that I thought it would be.

El-P - Time Won't Tell

El-P is really one of those artists which I always long to hear new material from. And when I do I rarely get disappointed. Here is some good stuff from his mix Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3.

Canada FTW

A bit old, but it will always be an example of why Canadian hip hop fuckin' rules! Cadence Weapon, Saukrates, D-Sisive, Maestro, Buck 65, Shad & Muneshine. Just get passed the interview in the beginning and you'll see what I mean.

Paul Heaton

I just realised that one of the artists whose music I've been a fan of the longest has to be Paul Heaton. It all started way back in 1986 with The Housemartins. Then after that in the late 80's and early 90's came The Beautiful South. And nowadays it just Paul Heaton. He's been a part of life for almost 25 years now, and I still love his music just as much as I did back in 1986.

Paper Man

Paper Man

Review: So what do we have here? An R-rated comedy about a midlife crisis and marital and mental problems. What more? Well, we have Jeff Daniels and Emma Stone as the lead characters. We also have quite a bit of awkwardness and some dysfunctional characters. What else do you really need for a good movie? Not much. I liked it.

Mr. Nobody

Mr. Nobody

Review: Some movies are harder than others to explain what they are all about. Jaco Van Dormaels latest movie Mr. Nobody is one of those. It's a bit weird, a bit erratic and a bit confusing. But I love it. A great movie which made me feel good inside. I can't explain why, but it did.

The Walking Dead (television series)

As some followers of my blog might know, I'm a big fan of the comic book serie The Walking Dead. This fall the television series based on the book will premiere and I can't wait! In October it's time. Here is a trailer that was filmed at Comic Con 2010. The quality of the shot here is not good, but it's the best one out there so far.

Review: Sure, I like the blood, the violence and the gore of Centurion. But besides that it's really quite crappy.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Review: I honestly don't know how I got the idea to watch this movie. But it sure was a waste of 90 minutes of my life.

The DJ Shadow Remix Project

A couple of years since DJ Shadow made any music slightly interesting (at least according to me), I'm glad to be able to listen to The DJ Shadow Remix Project. It is just what it sounds like. A bunch of unknowns have remixed classic DJ Shadow material. And it sounds really really good. Just a bit sad that in order to hear something good from this old heros camp nowadays, I have to rely on remixes of old songs. But still, totally worth checking out!

Soundtrack of Week 31

This week I haven't been listening very much to music actually. Been listening a lot to documentaries in my iPod thanks to P3 Dokumentär. But one album I've been listening to a bit and liked is Youngster by RickoLus.

Braden Smith & The Walrus Nose

Braden Smith & The Walrus Nose

Sometimes you more or less stumble across something really really good. Something that you didn't seek out to find. But all of a sudden it's there right in front of you. And that's what happened with this EP from Braden Smith. Some of you might recognize him under other names such as Ancient Mith, or from projects such as rush YA or Hungry Giant. But all that is really quite uninteresting at the time being. What is interesting however is just how good Braden Smith & The Walrus Nose sounds. When I first listened through the 6 songs in my headphones on my way to work the other day, I just drifted away. Not because of anything negative. No, because of the beauty that I just got delivered to me through the songs. I could easily keep going on blowing this guys trumpet but I won't. I will however tell you all to go here: Here you can download it for free (or pay whatever you think it's worth). You will truly be missing out if you don't take this opportunity.
